Located approximately three hours northwest of Peace River, this national park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. Wood Buffalo is Canada's largest National park and contains undisturbed meadows, forests and plains. Rare animals known to inhabit the park include wild-bison and whooping cranes.
The Dunvegan Provincial Park & Historic Site, located on the north bank of Peace River, offers a glimpse into missionary life and the fur trade dating back to 1805. Tour the St. Charles Mission and Hudson Bay Factor’s House or drop by the Visitor’s Centre. Day use area and campground facilities are available with universal access.
